The sandhill crane is a species of large crane of North America and extreme northeastern Siberia. George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary has it’s own pair of nesting Sandhill Cranes and this spring they hatched two chicks.
One of the chicks sadly was predated by a Mink a couple of weeks ago but the other chick is still alive and you can see both parents and the chick on most visits to the sanctuary.
