This morning I had a “Rediscover this day” notification on my phone from Google Photos from Aug. 10th, 2014. It’s always kind of fun to see what Google Photos reminds you about from the past. Today’s “Rediscover this day” took me back 4 years when I was visiting the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, BC.
What is the Sea to Sky Gondola?
The Sea to Sky Gondola is located on Highway 99 just south of Squamish, the scenic drive to the gondola is about a 45 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. From the parking lot after purchasing your ticket you take a 10 minute gondola ride to 885m above sea level.
Most people stop to ride the gondola on their way to Whistler but I would also recommend you allow time on either the way up or back home to spot off at Porteau Cove too!
The views at the top are SPECTACULAR on a sunny day! At the top there is a suspension bridge, viewing platforms, hiking trails and a full service restaurant/cafe. There is also playgrounds for the kids at both the base and top of the Sea to Sky Gondola.
If you are planning a trip up to the Sea to Sky Gondola to save a couple of bucks you can buy your tickets ahead of time online here. If you are a local and think you’ll be visiting more than a few times throughout the year there is discount annual passes available as well.
